Description

The module investigates the technology and environment of buildings, mainly at medium-scale, in the context of the wider urban environment. It consists of component lecture courses: Sustainable Design, Lighting, Acoustics, Structures, and Management. The emphasis is on the integration of the different aspects of building technology with each other and with architectural and engineering design in its entirety. The module provides knowledge and skills required in level 3 studio work and as partial preparation for architectural and engineering practice. The management component covers Building Regulations, Construction Contracts, CDM, and Health and Safety.
